Let’s Sail, Together

Yes! You are welcome to come, even with no sailing experience. I will captain the boat and arrange the trip, so you can sit back and relax. If you want to join me for the sailing, you are welcome to do so.

We will spend 7 days aboard a 42-47-foot catamaran. A two-hulled sailboat like this remains relatively flat when docked/moored and when it moves. That said, you will use a small boat, a dinghy, to get to shore, where we will moor for the night.

Think glamping on the water. We will have air conditioning and Wi-Fi, but you won't be able to stream anything.  We won't run the air conditioning all day; it only runs at night for sleeping.

Trips are appropriate for both snorkelers and divers on the same boat.  If you want to dive on this trip, you will need to provide me with a copy of your "C card". I will ensure you have the tanks and the gear you will need. I bring my own and am a certified Dive Master.

Prices depend on the boat's size and the number of people sailing. These catamarans have double/queen-size beds, and pricing is based on double occupancy. 

We will leave from Tortola, British Virgin Islands. You can fly directly to Beef Island Airport; however, it tends to be expensive. I will fly from Fort Lauderdale/Miami to St. Thomas, then take a ferry to Tortola. Approximate prices and a link to the ferry service is in the price list below. You will then grab a taxi/shuttle to the marina.

We will leave from Tortola, British Virgin Islands. We will decide each day where to visit, based first on prevailing wind patterns and safety. Typically, we will stop at The Baths, Norman Island; The Willie T, Cooper Island; Bitter End Yacht Club & Saba Rock, Jost Van Dyke, with the Soggy Dollar & Foxies.

We will leave from La Paz, Mexico and visit the following based on desires and weather:

• Playa Bonanza
• Bahia Amortajada
• Isla San Francisco
• Ensenada Grande
• Puerto Balandra

Step one is to let me know that you are interested. Step two is a non-refundable 50% deposit. (You can give your spot to someone else; if the boat trip gets cancelled, you get refunded - per the charter company's refund policy.) . The price includes a 100% hurricane/weather refund.

Not a lot. The islands are hot during the day and cool at night. Multiple swimsuits are a must. Here is a suggested packing list.
